There are several different types of conformal coating valves that can be utilised with the different selective robot platforms.

The valves can be used in isolation or in combination to provide different conformal coating performances dependent on the coating pattern required and the material type used.

These valves include:

  • Atomised
  • Non-atomised
  • Dispense
  • Jet dispense

Further explanation is provided below.

Also, example videos of the valves spraying or dispensing conformal coatings are shown with each of the valves.

Atomised spray valveAtomized_FCS300-ES-150-pixels

Key Facts

  • Atomised spray valves provide a concentrated conformal coating film in a circular pattern with widths ranging from 0.125” to 0.5”.
  • Spray pattern independent of direction of valve travel
  • Viscosity range 1 cps-800 cps
  • Compatible with all commercially available conformal coatings

For further information click atomised spray valve.

Key Facts

  • Non-atomised spray valve provides a concentrated conformal coating film in a half leaf shape pattern with widths ranging from 6-12mm.
  • Spray pattern dependent of direction of valve travel.
  • Viscosity range 1 -100 cps
  • Compatible with most low viscosity commercially available conformal coatings such as solvent based materials

For further information click non-atomised spray valve.

Key Facts

  • The dispensing valve provides a fine line of conformal coating accurately to inaccessible areas and where coating is required to be precisely applied.
  • Often used in combination with an atomised spray valve
  • Viscosity range 1 cps – Paste
  • Compatible with all commercially available conformal coatings

For further information click dispensing valve.

Jetting_JDX-150-pixelsJet dispensed valve

Key Facts

  • Jet dispense diaphragm valves are extremely fast, non-contact valves that precisely dispense coatings in extremely accurate low volumes.
  • High speed multiple drops-per-location at a speed up to 300 drops/sec
  • High precision dispensing application
  • Extremely accurate low volume dispensed down to 10ul.
